hob The hob doesn't work or is locked, what can I do?

• Induction and ceramic hobs

If your induction or glass ceramic hob locks and the "lock/key" light is on, the hob has been switched to childproof mode. 

In order to unblock it, press the "padlock/key" button until the lock symbol disappears (about 5 seconds).

If the buttons on your glass ceramic or induction hob fail, start by cleaning the hob thoroughly, as this can cause it to malfunction (grease, residue, etc.). To do this, use a non-abrasive sponge moistened so as not to damage the plate and standard washing-up liquid. Then dry with a soft cloth.

Check that the power cable is correctly plugged into the socket, and check that the socket works by plugging in another working appliance.

• Gas hob

If you can no longer light the burners on your gas hob, you should check whether the nozzle is blocked by food residues. Use a small brush or needle to clean it.
